Jackson, MS (October 20, 2022) – A serious auto collision happened in Jackson on the morning of October 20. Shortly before 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, at least two vehicles crashed on Interstate 55. 

Reports show the wreck happened in the northbound lanes of I-55 near Pearl Street in Hinds County. The left three lanes were blocked while emergency crews were present in the area. 

At least one person was injured and in need of emergency medical care at the crash scene. Those involved have not been identified at this time. 

Delays in traffic ensued in the area for some time on the morning of October 20. Three left lanes of the roadway were closed while emergency responders worked in the area. Police asked local drivers to use different routes for the time that the crash site was occupied with emergency crews. 

Police continue to investigate the details of the incident. Nothing further has been reported at this time.
