Mississippi Car Accidents

Hinds Co, MS - Auto Wreck on I-20 near I-220 Causes Injuries, Traffic DelaysEvery year, hundreds of thousands of car accidents are reported in the state of Mississippi. Tens of thousands of people are hurt in these accidents and more than 1,000 lose their lives. Mississippi sees more auto collisions than the majority of other states in the United States. Right now, auto accidents are the leading cause of death among people 150-20 throughout the country. This is alarming, considering the majority of the car crashes reported in the United States are the result of driver negligence.

Information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that more than 90% of the auto collisions reported in the United States are the result of driver negligence. Drivers who drive while over-tired, intoxicated, distracted, or speeding are at a much greater risk of causing a collision to occur.

When a car wreck happens due to the actions of a negligent driver, those who sustain injuries are usually forced into the hospital and out of work. The average cost of a hospital stay related to a severe auto accident injury is more than $50,000. Crash victims may need help paying for the injuries they sustain due to their wrecks.

Luckily, if a negligent driver is responsible for an accident, those who sustain injuries are most likely eligible for financial compensation that can help pay for some or all of the costs that result from their accident.
