Ridgeland, MS (January 26, 2023) – Two dogs were killed, and a woman remains in critical condition after a house fire happened in Ridgeland on Thursday. The incident was reported to fire officials on Thursday, January 26. 

Reports show the blaze occurred on Peach Orchard Drive. Units reported fire and smoke coming from a bedroom window of a home on the road. Fire officials were fast to enter the house and control the flames. 

During their search of the house, firefighters found a woman and two dogs in need of medical attention. The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition while CPR was performed on the dogs for over thirty minutes at the scene. 

Despite life-saving efforts, the dogs lost their lives.
