Wiggins, MS (December 11, 2021) – At 7:07 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, December 9, an injury accident occurred at an intersection in Wiggins.

According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-49 and Cozy Corner Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
