Oxford, MS (May 5, 2022) – Around 6:10 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, May 4, a car accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 2159 South Lamar Boulevard almost in front of G&M Pharmacy. Police reported that several vehicles were seen on the roadway with extensive damages after they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. Tow trucks removed the vehicles from the scene.
Oxford paramedics and fire crews were dispatched to the scene soon after the accident. One or more parties were hurt in the collision. The injured victims were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area following the collision so that police could clear the scene.
Any witnesses to the accident were asked to speak with police. Oxford Police Department officials continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
