Ripley, MS (May 20, 2022) – One person sustained injuries as a result of a three-vehicle collision that took place on a highway in Ripley on Tuesday morning, May 17.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened around 10:57 a.m. on Highway 15. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when, due to reasons that are not yet known, the vehicles collided with one another just north of the border with Union County. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages as a result of the accident.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders, including Tupelo fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person inside one of the vehicles, who has not yet been identified, was hospitalized with injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
