Lamar County, MS – US-11 Scene of Serious Accident near MS 589

Lamar County, MS (November 20, 2022) – At least one person was hurt in a traffic accident that occurred in Lamar County on the morning of November 16. Shortly after 10:00 a.m., crews were sent to render aid at the scene of an accident on US-11. 

Traffic delays ensued in both directions of the road due to the accident. It happened on US 11 near MS 689 for reasons that are currently unclear. 

Two or more vehicles collided in the area and ended in injuries for those involved. Motorists were advised to use caution while crews were present on the roadway. 

At this time, the cause of the crash is being investigated by local police. No other information has been reported concerning the incident.
