About

Miranda B. Shaughnessy is a native of Norman, Oklahoma. A dedicated Sooners fan, Miranda graduated from OU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Security Studies, emphasizing in Middle Eastern politics and conflict, and a minor in Constitutional Law. She attended Loyola New Orleans College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2018.

During law school, Miranda was heavily active in many student organizations. She served as President of Loyola’s

International Law Society in 2016, was a board member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society, and served on the board of the Student Bar Association in several roles, including as Chairwoman of the Community Outreach Committee in both 2015 and 2016. She regularly interned with legal non-profits through Loyola’s Gillis Long Poverty Law Center where, throughout her law school career, she assisted low-income clients on a myriad of legal issues including divorce, child custody, child support, domestic violence, immigration, and trusts and estates. Her work with the Gillis Long Poverty

Law Center fueled her desire to dedicate her career to serving those most in need and providing the highest level of care and service possible to her clients.

Miranda is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and is active with the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Mississippi Bar. With her mother’s tenacity and her father’s creative problem solving skills, Miranda is a devoted attorney committed to advocating for her clients throughout every stage of a case. Miranda’s compassion and ability to empathize make her an outstanding attorney. She believes that injured clients deserve an extraordinary level of care and an attorney who will fight for them both in and out of the courtroom, a job Miranda is proud and honored to do. Since law school, Miranda has practiced in the areas of family law, personal injury law, and workers’ compensation.

Ms. Shaughnessy currently resides in Northern Mississippi with her fiancé, Matt, and her bonus son, Kayden. In her spare time she enjoys her Peloton, yoga, gardening, cooking and trying new recipes, watching The Office and Ghost Adventures, and cheering on her Sooners and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
