A Saturday Like No Other
Get ready to mark your calendars because the fifth edition of this incredible event will take place on May 1st, 2027. If you have ever been to the Derby, you know exactly what our founding attorney, Missy Wigginton, means when she talks about the pure joy of this festival.

Racing for a Cause
The true heart of the Starkville Derby is the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS). Over the years, this festival has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help animals in need.
OCHS Executive Director Michele Anderson shared that this continued partnership will impact so many animals coming into their care and help them find their forever homes. Alden Thornhill, the founder of the Starkville Derby, also noted how much this commitment will help pets across Starkville and the Golden Triangle for years to come. He graciously highlighted that everywhere you look, Mama Justice teammates are out supporting their local communities, and we are truly blessed to support OCHS in their biggest fundraiser.
Growing Together
The Starkville Derby has grown into something truly spectacular. It has drawn national coverage from ESPN and Barstool Sports and earned multiple tourism awards, including designations from the Southeast Tourism Society and the Mississippi Tourism Association for Best Large Festival and Best Creative Large Event. With nearly 1,000 dachshunds raced and tens of millions of views, it brings people from all over the globe right to the center of Starkville.
Just like the Derby, we have been doing some growing of our own. Founded right here in Tupelo, our team has expanded across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee with a profound commitment to helping others heal.
