At Mama Justice, our mission has always extended far beyond the courtroom. We believe in standing by our neighbors when they need us most. That shared commitment to community care was on full display at the American Red Cross North Mississippi chapter annual meeting at the Tupelo Country Club.

The event celebrated the vital work of volunteers and supporters who help families recover from disaster. Executive Director KC Grist highlighted the importance of localized community response, especially in the wake of severe weather like Winter Storm Fern and daily tragedies like house fires. Attendees were moved by personal stories from people whose lives were changed by the organization. Murrell Evans shared how the Red Cross provided immediate comfort after a devastating winter house fire. Laura Frazier spoke about how her life was saved from choking because her father had taken a Red Cross CPR class.

During this special luncheon, our very own Missy Wigginton was recognized with a historic honor. Missy became the first Tiffany Circle member from North Mississippi.

The Tiffany Circle is a prestigious national network of women leaders and philanthropists dedicated to advancing the Red Cross mission through investments of time, talent, and treasure. The award gets its name from the historic Louis Comfort Tiffany stained-glass windows at the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington, D.C. Today, the Circle includes over 1,500 members worldwide who have raised hundreds of millions of dollars to support disaster relief and blood collection.

As Executive Director Grist noted, Missy truly demonstrates what it means to lead through action. By stepping up as the presenting sponsor for Dine for Disaster and providing consistent philanthropic leadership, Missy has helped ensure that North Mississippi families receive immediate financial support when tragedy strikes.

Being the first in our region to join the Tiffany Circle is a profound honor. However, Missy’s greatest hope is that she will not be the last. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tiffany Circle, a special $10 million matching grant from the Eli Lilly Foundation is currently making it easier for local women to join this incredible network.

We are incredibly proud of Missy for leading the charge. When our community works together, we can overcome any obstacle. If you are interested in learning more about the Red Cross or the Tiffany Circle, we encourage you to get involved and help us keep North Mississippi strong, safe, and prepared.
