Effectively handling a mass tort requires a tremendous amount of expertise from broad areas, such as consulting with doctors for their medical knowledge; researching the latest scientific developments; and having the legal skill to put these areas together to create a solid case. With that in mind, and in continuation of our firm’s strategy of treating all clients like family, Mama Justice wants to make sure you get the same representation we would want for ourselves.

We have researched and met with some of the best mass tort firms in the country to come up with “Mama’s List of Mass Torts.” This lists agreements with the top law firms to handle our cases at no additional cost to our clients. These firms simply pay us a referral fee once your case settles and will pay our clients directly upon the settlement. This approach ensures our clients will be represented by some of the best in the legal profession at their time of need. If you feel you have been injured by one of the products listed below, do not hesitate to call (833) 626-2587 for a free consultation. You deserve the best.

What Is a Mass Tort?

When many people are harmed in similar ways by the same product, they may band together to file a class-action lawsuit. Also called mass torts, these lawsuits can help plaintiffs save money on legal fees and hold large companies accountable for their wrongdoings. Mass torts are often filed when many people are exposed to dangerous or defective products or medical devices, or when a large number of people come down with the same rare illness.

At Mama Justice – MW Law Firm, we believe in the importance of victim’s voices. That’s why we help you raise yours by forming or joining a mass tort when you are wrongfully injured or bereaved.

Roundup

Lawsuits against Roundup® Weed Killer are emerging left and right. This is because the World Health Organization (WHO) has indicated the product’s active ingredient, glyphosate, as a “probable human carcinogen,” or a substance that is likely to cause cancer. Specifically, Roundup® has been linked to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in gardeners, groundskeepers, and other individuals who have experienced repeated glyphosate exposure. As of January 31, 2020, more than 42,700 plaintiffs had filed suit against Bayer, the product’s manufacturer. After losing several high-profile cases, Bayer started pursuing a settlement. Anyone affected by Roundup® in a commercial setting may be entitled to compensation.

If you have developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after using Roundup®, call Mama Justice today.

Hernia Mesh

Hernias occur when organs, intestines, or fatty tissues squeeze through weak spots in muscles or connective tissues. They often occur near the abdominal wall and present visible external bulges. Some patients use surgical mesh to support weakened muscles or tissue and eliminate hernias. This mesh is frequently made of processed and disinfected animal tissue and is considered a permanent implant.

Unfortunately, hernia mesh treatment is tied to a number of complications. Further, some brands of surgical mesh were recalled due to organ adhesion, perforation, and obstruction.

Recalled mesh products were distributed by:

  • RAM Medical, Inc.
  • Amerimed Corporation
  • Henry Schein Inc.
  • Marathon Medical Corporation
  • Medline Industries
  • MMS – A Medical Supply Company
  • Q-Med Corporations

If you were treated with hernia mesh from any of the lots listed above, and you experienced any medical problems, do not hesitate to call us at (833) 626-2587.

Hip Implants

Hip implants can be valuable tools for people with arthritis and other hip diseases or injuries. If the right materials are implanted properly, patients can enjoy pain relief and extended mobility. Metal-on-metal hip implants, however, can splinter, release metal particles into the bloodstream, and damage surrounding bones and tissue. Due to these complications, metal-on-metal hip implants are no longer approved for use in the United States.

If you had a hip replacement before May 16, 2016, you may have a metal-on-metal hip implant inside of your body. Metal-on-metal implants were popular in the 2000s and distributed by manufacturers like:

  • Stryker
  • Smith & Nephew
  • Zimmer Biomet
  • Depuy Orthopaedics
  • Wright

We encourage you to contact our firm if you are experiencing metallosis (blood poisoning), pain, or hip loosening or dislocation after receiving one of the above implants. You may also be entitled to compensation if you’ve had revision surgery for your implant.

Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a very rare cancerous tumor that affects the tissue of the lungs, stomach, heart, and other organs. The most common cause of this illness is exposure to asbestos. Asbestos can be found in old insulation, building materials, and construction sites. Construction workers who are exposed to asbestos on job sites can receive workers’ compensation if they develop mesothelioma.

Another, less expected site of asbestos exposure is contaminated talcum powder. Johnson & Johnson has faced several lawsuits because the extended use of J&J Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower Powder has been linked to mesothelioma and ovarian cancer.

If you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma or ovarian cancer after using contaminated talcum powder, Mama Justice can help you hold J&J and other manufacturers responsible.
